Sure, I know what you mean. It's mainly an issue of burden on the administrators. The volunteer admins here are already taxed... we all need to pitch in, specifically when the work is a result of an individual preference. If you don't want lossy versions made of shows you have taped, you can contact those who have uploaded your shows so they can make the change. This will take you no more time than it would for the administrators (they'd still have to go through every details page, uncheck the box, and also let the uploader know so he or she doesn't think it's a mistake and uncheck the box). This will also insure that people uploading your concerts know your preference regarding lossy versions and will honor it in the future when adding new shows.

I hope that clarifies a bit. Thanks for your patience and understanding during this process.

Oh, and I checked: your name appears in the taper field for 84 shows. You uploaded 37 of them. Thanks for being such an active contributor both on this site and in the community :)

This is less about the lossy options, but if the admins are taxed... how does an interested member of the archive.org community become a volunteer? What are some of archive.org's needs w.r.t. the LlaMA? I'm interested in helping in whatever ways I can, and perhaps there are others who are similarly motivated.
